Skateboarding and soccer were significant influences in my life when growing up. I naturally gravitated towards the sweat, pain, and freedom that came with each of these passions. They both taught me one precious lesson: You will get hurt, but no matter how painful or hard it may seem, you always get up, brush yourself off, and no matter what it takes, you keep going. This lesson has become a value that I live my life by. No matter how many times you go down, the love for it makes you get up and try harder.
There were many obstacles I had to overcome and personal challenges that came along with it. But from these obstacles, I learned that the only way to push forward was to embrace my work fully, stay focused, and be optimistic about the process. My tenacious spirit never let those challenges deter me from my end goal of becoming a graphic designer, and those experiences naturally made their way into my work. As a designer who aims to communicate effectively, I hope to continue to experiment and play by embracing the growth from any challenges I face in the future.
